Canon EOS M3: My First Ever Camera

Hello there!

It was no secret that I’ve been a Tumblr user way way back. Ever since then, Tumblr has been my inspiration to get beautiful pictures. Back then, I only use my camera phone whenever I take pictures but it has always been my dream to have my own camera.

Now that I have migrated to WordPress and decided to take blogging more seriously, that dream is still with me. Back in college it’s been on my “To Buy” list and it stayed there for so many years until last Saturday. My boyfriend bought me a brand new camera! It was an anniversary gift I guess and I couldn’t be any happier!

I know smartphone camera nowadays are being more and more developed that they can do what a camera can do, produce quality pictures. But it’s still good to settle to something that is built to take photos right?

Just so you know, My boyfriend and I are not into gadgets but whenever we feel like having one, We make sure that it is something we really need or it is something worth buying. We also do our own research so we at least have an idea about the product because we don’t wanna purchase something we would regret purchasing after.

This post is not a camera review and I am no camera expert but I will be listing down few camera specs below for reference.

So there. Just a little side story, I originally wanted to have the Fujifilm X-A2 primarily because of 4 reasons, it’s affordable,  It’s vintage look, it’s ability to produce quality pictures and it’s a compact camera. I am not a fan of bulky DSLRs coz It looks complicated for me and bulky. I just want something simple and small. I’ve been eyeing for the A2 for a while now and I fell inlove with it the first time I saw it that I wanted to have it ASAP. When my boyfriend and I decided to buy a camera last weekend, we went to SM Megamall and look for Fujifilm X-A2. I was a happy and excited kiddo, lemme tell you! We went directly to Camera Haus but… to our disappointment, we were told that the unit has been phased out and replaced by a new model Fujifilm X-A3. I almost felt like crying. You might say I was over reacting but damn! You know that feeling when you want something soooo bad and for so long but you can no longer have it. Then again, the looks and the specs of the A3 are pretty much the same with A2 but it is more expensive given that it is a new model and we don’t wanna splurge extra money for it. But I badly wanted a camera so we tried to look for different brands and we settled to Canon EOS M3. It is available in two colors, White and Black. I got the black one coz it looks cool and simple. It doesn’t look vintage just like the A2 but it is also a compact camera which I really like. It wasn’t hard to shoot with one hand either so why not try this one right? After doing few test shots and learning few how to’s, we already bought the cam because my boyfriend and I liked it. In an instant! That was the first time we got something we did not do research about but I tell you, it wasn’t that bad at all. We even got the cam on sale! What a lucky day!

My thoughts?

It’s very user friendly. It is also a compact camera and very easy to carry with you on your travels.  If you are into Instagram or Facebook, it is also very easy to transfer photos from the camera to your smartphone because of its Wi-Fi capability. Cool right? You just have to download a Canon app to do that. It is also doable to shoot using your smartphone once connected thru Wi-Fi. Easy! For selfie addicts out there, this camera is for you too, because of its screen which you can tilt up to 180 degrees so it’ll take your selfie experience to the next level. I’m so in love with this camera and forgotten about A2. Haha! Im super excited to take it with us on our future travels and capture a lot of beautiful pictures for my blog. Can’t wait!
