Beauty Review: It’s Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector

For anyone of you who have read my previous blog posts, then you’ll know that I had a major acne breakout years ago that left me with lots of acne marks on my face (until today). I have few products that I’ve tried that somehow helped me and really made a huge difference on my skin but I’ve learned from other bloggers online and on YouTube as well about another effective product that really help lightens acne marks, hyper-pigmentation, and other skin blemishes visible on your skin. A Vitamin C serum.

Vitamin C has a lot a lot of skin benefits so before we go any further, let us know first what Vitamin C does on our skin.

Vitamin C is known to have brightening and whitening effects not only when taken internally but also when used and added to your daily skin care routine. It can make your complexion and skin tone brighter and even and can keep your skin looking younger too as it also helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

When I found out about the ever popular Vitamin C serum, I immediately searched for one. There’s actually a lot of Vitamin C serums available in the Western and Asian market today but most of them are way too expensive. So I was really glad when I stumbled upon Beautymnl and found out about the Power 10 Formula VC Effector Serum by It’s Skin. It was part of my beautymnl haul which you can read here. I was a bit hesitant at first because it was cheap but after I read all the good and positive reviews, I was convinced and placed an order immediately. Warning: It sells out so fast.

Note: Since the It’s Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector is quite a long name, I will shorten it with Power 10 Formula VC Effector all throughout this review. Now, let’s get on to the review.

Power 10 Formula VC Effector is a lightweight, brightening essence that just happens to be It’s Skin’s bestseller amongst all Power 10 Formula variants (source: Beautymnl)

The product comes in a 30ml yellow glass bottle for 390Php, with plastic cap and rubber dropper to easily dispense the serum. Product details are all in Korean so I rely to the details in beautymnl’s website. It didn’t came with a box too but when I ordered mine from beautymnl, it was properly sealed in a bubble wrap.

What it Claims

This is the first serum I’ve ever tried among all Power Firmula 10 variants and also the very first Vitamin C serum I ever tried my entire life. Since this is It’s Skin best seller, I somehow have high hopes that it will really help me with my skin problems.

I personally use this serum twice daily, morning and evening right after toner then I’ll go on to the rest of my skin care routine. 1-2 drops of the serum is already enough for my entire face but sometimes, I use 2 or more drops to make sure I have generous amount of product onto the areas where I have acne scars, particularly cheeks, nose, and chin. I remember feeling a bit warm the first time I applied the product probably because it was my first time. Some people experience the same sensation when using Vitamin C serum but no worries about this because that is how it really works. The sensation is also a passing phenomena and would quickly disappear a few seconds after application. Also, it’s very important to use sunscreen if you will put Vitamin C serum in the morning to avoid any sun sensitivity.

runny texture (look how dry/dehydrated my skin was before application)

My skin is instantly moisturized right after application

The texture of Power 10 Formula VC Effector is thicker than toners but thinner than essences and moisturizers. It is also a bit runny so I find it easy to spread the product to my skin. It also has a strong citrus smell to it that reminds me of fresh lemon juice. Some might find it bothersome but I personally like the scent. If you are very sensitive to smell, no worries because it quickly disappears once it has been absorbed by your skin well. It’s fast absorbing product because my skin drinks it up well after few seconds and doesn’t leave tacky feeling and sticky residue.

I must say that I love how this serum brightens up my face instantly every after use. I have dull and tired looking skin because I always go home late and have lack of sleep but this serum somehow help me revive my skin making it look hydrated all the time. As for lightening or fading my acne scars, unfortunately, I think this serum didn’t help much. It also didn’t help lighten even my fresh acne marks which is a little disappointing since I expected more from it being the best seller among all 10 Power 10 variants. But for such price tag, I can’t complain much because it still does a good job in terms of brightening.

Overall, I still liked the Power 10 Formula VC Effector and still thankful that I bought it. It is gentle and didn’t cause me breakouts. I recommend this product to those who haven’t tried any Vitamin C Serum just yet because this a great introductory Vitamin C serum for you. It is gentle and also suited for those with sensitive skin. It helps brighten complexion and keeps your skin hydrated. This didn’t help me fade away acne scars but who knows, this might work for you. but will I repurchase? Probably no, because I need something for my acne marks so I am still looking for a great Vitamin C serum to try. I have recently ordered a different one so stay tuned for that.

  1. I bought a new Vit C serum and hope it’ll fade my acne scars. But we’ll see. 🙂 Whats your current solution for acne acars though? Thanks for that!

  2. I also have the same problem, PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation). Sometimes it takes 5-6 months to go away or even longer, until i got to try the 180 degrees facial wash and combined it with celltrex ultra recovery fluid! it takes a month for the pigmentation to fade out 🙂 really happy with those 2 products. hope this helps.

    1. Hi Victoria! Thank you for sharing your experience. I have tried products with Centella Asiatica in it and my skin has now improved. Glad you’ve found products that worked on you either. 🙂
